Do you remember back in August of last year when Google offered to buy Motorola Mobility for $40 a share? Soon after the announcement, many people assumed that it was a done deal. However, the complete opposite has happened. Since then, a lot of speculation was tossed around, with many saying that the deal would not be allowed to happen. Despite the fact that both companies’ board of directors approved the deal, it was not until yesterday (Feb. 11) that the U.S. and European regulators approved Google’s purchase of Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion ($40 per share).
