Kalo gak salah sih pembelaannya Google adalah mereka cuma pake API (Application Programming Interface)-nya Java aja. Kalo saya gak salah nangkep argumentasinya siapa aja boleh nulis program dengan API-nya Java, dan gak perlu lisensi. Setelah programnya jadi, di Java program tersebut dicompile jadi yg namanya bytecode dan bisa dijalankan di mana saja di atas JVM (Java Virtual Machine). Sedangkan di Android, Google bikin virtual machine mereka sendiri yg namanya Dalvik Virtual Machine. Makanya Google merasa gak perlu minta lisensi dari Sun/Oracle buat Android (karena mereka bikin sendiri implementasi virtual machinenya) Sedangkan mungkin Oracle merasa Java ditambah konsep virtual machinenya udah dipaten dan Google mencuri hak intelektualnya...
