RFID = Radio Frequency Identification sebuah metode identifikasi dengan menggunakan sarana yang disebut label RFID atau transponder untuk menyimpan dan mengambil data jarak jauh. Kartu RFID adalah sebuah benda yang bisa dipasang atau dimasukkan di dalam sebuah produk, dengan tujuan untuk identifikasi menggunakan gelombang radio. Kartu RFID berisi informasi yang disimpan secara elektronik dan dapat dibaca hingga beberapa meter jauhnya.
Jadi secara fungsi mungkin sama saja dengan nfc. Yang sudah di aplikasikan contohnya id card /access card yg biasa untuk buka pintu / masuk ke ruangan tanpa hrs digesekan, tapi cukup di tempelkan ke alatnya (meski sebenernya ngga perlu nempel juga bisa hehehe..).
