*Microsoft apparently just spent $250M on buying the SwiftKey keyboard app* SwiftKey is now Minecraft's sibling. Microsoft, which paid $2.5 billion for Minecraft in 2014, just paid $250 million to acquire SwiftKey, a London-based maker of a hugely popular predictive keyboard app that's installed on more than 300 million devices, according to a new report from the The Financial Times. The app is available for iOS and Android devices but not Windows phone. It is free to download and use. SwiftKey has roughly 150 employees working in London, San Francisco, and Seoul, and many of them will reportedly now go work at Microsoft Research. The Financial Times claimed Jon Reynolds and Ben Medlock, SwiftKey's cofounders, will each make at least $30 million from the deal, and you can expect Microsoft to officially announce everything later this week. We contacted both Microsoft and SwiftKey and hope to update soon. It's assumed that Microsoft, while now under the helm of chief executive Satya Nadella, acquired the 8-year-old app to continue Nadella's "mobile-first, cloud-first" strategy, which includes not only making Microsoft apps, such as the Office suite, available on other platforms, but also the buying of popular apps. Beyond Minecraft, Microsoft recently bought the Acompli email app, Wunderlist to-do list app, and Sunrise calendar app. -- ========== Toko Headphone & Earphone Terlengkap dan Terbaru Kunjungi >> http://bassaudio.net ---------------------- Kontak Admin, Twitter @agushamonangan ----------------------- FB Groups : https://www.facebook.com/groups/android.or.id Aturan Umum ID-ANDROID >> goo.gl/mL1mBT ========== --- Anda menerima pesan ini karena Anda berlangganan grup "[id-android] Indonesian Android Community" dari Google Grup.
