Acer says it has a tablet in the works, but it won't be ready for several months.
At an event in Beijing Thursday, Acer Chairman and CEO Gianfranco Lanci demonstrated a few forthcoming Acer gadgets including a tablet running Android, according to reports. The details on the tablet are few so far: it has a 7-inch screen and appears to have a physical keyboard similar to Amazon's Kindle. Lanci did not announce a price, but said it would go on sale sometime between October and December. There could also be the option of 3G service: Lanci made a somewhat cryptic comment that wireless operators would be an "obvious" channel through which to sell the tablet. Dell is pursuing a similar tactic. On Tuesday it announced the 5-inch Android-based Streak tablet, which it is selling through O2, a wireless carrier in the U.K., starting next month. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20006168-1.html -- Salam, Agus Hamonangan http://groups.google.com/group/id-android http://groups.google.com/group/id-gtug Gtalk : agus.hamonangan Follow : @agushamonangan E-mail : [email protected] -- "Indonesian Android Community [id-android]" Join: http://groups.google.com/group/id-android/subscribe?hl=en-GB Moderator: [email protected] ID Android Developer: http://groups.google.com/group/id-android-dev ID Android Surabaya: http://groups.google.com/group/id-android-sby ID Android on FB: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=112207700729
