INTRODUCTION
The Workshop on Electro-Communication and Information is a biannual event
organized by the Indonesian Society on Electrical, Electronics, Communication
and Information (IECI) which has primary objectives to provide an effective
media for the scientists, engineers and practitioners coming from universities,
research institutions and industries to share their ideas, innovations and
problem-solving techniques related to the field of electro-communication and
information systems and also to promote the establishment of the Indonesian
Society on Electrical, Electronics, Communication and Information (IECI) in
Indonesia. The third Workshop on Electro-Communication and Information
(WECI-III) will be held on March 3 - 4,1999 at Institute of Technology Bandung
(ITB), Bandung, Indonesia, following WECI-I at University of Electro-
Communication (UEC), Tokyo, Japan (1995), and WECI-II at Keio University,
Yokohama, Japan (1997). WECI is sponsored by the Indonesian Society on
Electrical, Electronics, Communication and Information (IECI). As the host of
WECI-III is the Department of Electrical Engineering, Institute of Technology
Bandung.
The scope of the workshop will include, however not limited to

Distribution, Intelligent Systems in Power, Protective Relaying Communication
in Power, Low Frequency EM. Fields, Control & Operation, Electric Machinery &

VLSI SYSTEMS: reliable vlsi system, vlsi computing and communication system,

SUBMISSION FORMAT & SCHEDULE
Two copies of one-page abstract should be submitted by December 18th ,1998 to
the Program Committee. The full paper must be submitted by January 18th , 1999.
The paper, either in English or Indonesian language, should be headed by the
title, author(s), affiliation and address, and clearly described the originality
of the work and the relevance to the scope of the workshop. Detailed of the
manuscript will be informed later.
