Duh, processor speed 8 MHz, bikin nostalgia aja, dulu tahun 1985 pake
Apple //c ("c" for compact) yang keluarnya tahun 1984 ber-sama2
Macintosh pertama, jadi sudah dilengkapi mouse. Apple //c
processornya cuma 1 MHz (tapi speednya setara dengan PC yang 4.77 MHz
itu) dan menang dalam hal built-in soundcard serta video/audio out ke
TV warna. Dengan ukuran sangat kecil seperti mesin tik portable dan
monitor yang matching 9 inci.
Processornya saya ganti dengan 3rd party punya yang 8 MHz, wah
semuanya langsung terbang. Drag n drop dengan mouse yang tadinya
lambretta sekali menjadi hampir normal (untuk jaman sekarang). Pake
program desktop publishing Publish It! menjadi jauh lebih enak.
Jangan ditanya lagi kecepatannya, PC turbo sekalipun dengan processor
double speednya pun kalah, apalagi pilihan softwarenya sangat canggih
untuk masa itu, dengan GUI dan pull-down menu.
Teman2 saya pengguna PC sampai terkagum-kagum. Padahal ini bukan Mac
lho.
