I believe you'll find that in your user area there is a folder .idlerc
that contains preferences that apply just to you, and which override the
defaults in the config-extensions.def file.

and one several layers down below the folder for sage (in the idlelib
folder, specifically). Nothing in the main Python 2.6 installation
that showed up.
Am I looking in the wrong place?
