Just to be perfectly clear: If we adopt IDNA, then telnet/ssh etc. have to be upgraded to be IDNA *friendly*, but they are already IDNA *compatible*. While people are waiting for those upgrades, they are not completely out of luck. They can do something like: telnet `ace NATIVECHARACTERS` where ace is a single program that can be used in this way with telnet, ssh, ftp, finger, etc. AMC
