I have a question regarding prohibited characters.
I was looking at the nameprep document
(http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-idn-nameprep-00.txt)
and noticed that the characters:
U+0027 APOSTROPHE
U+0028 LEFT PARENTHESIS
U+0029 RIGHT PARENTHESIS
U+002A ASTERISK
are not listed as prohibited characters.
Here are a few more characters similar to prohibited characters (or to
the 4 characters above):
U+2018 LEFT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK
U+2019 RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK
U+201B SINGLE HIGH-REVERSED 9 QUOTATION MARK
U+201C LEFT DOUBLE QUOTATION MARK
U+201D RIGHT DOUBLE QUOTATION MARK
U+201E DOUBLE LOW-9 QUOTATION MARK
U+201F DOUBLE HIGH-REVERSED-9 QUOTATION MARK
U+2027 HYPHENATION POINT
U+2032 PRIME
U+2034 TRIPLE PRIME
U+2035 REVERSED PRIME
U+2036 REVERSED DOUBLE PRIME
U+2037 REVERSED TRIPLE PRIME
U+2043 HYPHEN BULLET
U+2217 ASTERISK OPERATOR
(Maybe the whole range of punctuation characters from U+2000 - U+206F
should be prohibited?)
Should some or all of these be added to the list of prohibited
characters under section 3.5 (prohib-5: Punctuation) of the draft?
