Dear Idrisi Project

Is the Idrisi help file in the public domain?
I.e., am I allowed to re-distirbute it to others?

If not, I would encourage you to seriously and positively consider this.

There have been several cases where people have asked me about the possibilities
and limitations of Idrisi. These types of question typically comes from people with
prior
knowledge/experience about GIS. As the answer usually is quite nicely found in the
Idrisi HELP file I must admit that I a few times have actually provided a copy of the
HELP file.
The web site provides only very limited information (compared to the HELP file) for
this
category of people.

If you agree to officially put it in the public domain, I would encourage you to put
it on-
line on your web site.

You might have good (economic and otherwise) reasons why you not want this file to
be freely distributed, but I hope that your raction will be positive.

I send this to the list, as I anticipate it also interest many other of your (happy)
users.

Regards

Sindre Langaas
