2, 3, 4, 5. On importing it into Idirisi, four bands are numbered as

OR how should I relate the old and new band no.?

Dear Vivek,

I am assuming you are using Bil or Bip - idris to import the data. If this
is incorrect, let me know. Otherwise, you are correct, that if it is in one
of those formats, it will separate the bands in order, 2,3,4,5. The output
names are merely user defined. I hope this helps.

James

I had a similar problem with SPOT images. If you use an import module such
as BILIDRIS (Band Interleaved by Line), Idrisi imports the band associated
with the first line and calls it Band 1. The second band that it finds is
named Band 2, and so on. So, as long as you have properly set up the
import module the bands will come out in the order in which they were stored.

I had a problem with Idrisi mixing up the band numbers on a SPOT image.
I later realized that I had neglected to realize that the very first line
is the header, so it ended up being my fault. Hope this helps!

If you had a quick look at them then you should be able to decide which
band is which. I would have thought that the numbering was done in a
logical order.

They are in the same sequence as they are stored in the landsat file.
