Hello!

I have imported 7.5 min DEM from GLIS (USGS)website and
used both Idrisi & ArcInfo to merge (cancatinate) all DEM
of Masachusetts. However, I see some line dropouts and
salt&peppers in places where 2~4 dems were merged.

I have used both DESTRIPE and FILTER (3x3 median) to remove
these noises. Using FILTER, I removed salts and pepper effects.
My second try of filtering did not work, thus I tried DESTRIPE,
but it did not remove any line dropouts. Finally, I croped my image
to a smaller scale and ran Filter, then it worked. Then used concatinate
to merge one filter by one.

Here are my questions:
Is there any method that I do not need to crop image to destripe?
Does fourier or PCA method work?
Is there any way to use mask for median filter? (so that I can do it
at once?)

I have also tried to use mask to destripe some areas, but it was not
successful. If anyone could list answer to above questions, I would
appreciate it very much.

Shingo
