--- Start of Idrisi List message Dear all, We have been using Idrisi (version 2.0) to map the fishing effort and landings of our local fishing fleet using data from GPS data loggers on board the vessels. At present the data are in raster format comprising pixels of 1/4'' by 1/4''. Each pixel has a value of either the fishing effort (number of times towed) or landings in kg. The images look very good with an Idrisi 16 palette, but I would like to publish the results of a pilot study we ran before we complete the main study & can't really justify the expense of colour plates for this. For this paper 5 or 6 classes would suffice. I have tried generating a greyscale palette, but even with only 5 classes the image was not clear. After that I tried converting raster files to polygons and using the symbol workshop to generate different patterned polygons for each class. The result was a mess. It seems a little problem, but if anyone has any experience they could pass on it would be much appreciated.
