Hello,
I would prefer to use TIN interpolation to create a raster from a vector
point file. I realize I must use the TIN function followed by the TINSURF
command to get a raster image. The TIN command creates two files, one a
vector image of the vertices between points and the other a text file
detailing the relationship between vertices. Here's my problem:
There are some vertices that I would like to remove since they constitute a
portion of a triangle for which I would prefer no coverage. In my case, the
triangulation included areas over land for points that represent data from
oceanographic observations. In essence, points separated by land were
connected as part of the mesh. Using the export function it is possible to
identify and remove individual vertices so that the mesh more accurately
represents areas of water where interpolation is wanted. I can then import
the file and can display a more accurate mesh. However, to proceed with
interpolation I also need to include the text file (.tin) that describes the
relationships between the vertices. Of course, the old file does not reflect
changes I made to the .vxp file. Is there a quick way to create a new .tin
file from the new mesh or must I also (tediously) delete lines from the .tin
file so that interpolation may proceed? Any ideas or hints would be helpful.
Cheers,
Daniel
