The IESG has received a request from the Drone Remote ID Protocol WG (drip) to consider the following document: - 'DRIP Entity Tag (DET) for Unmanned Aircraft System Remote ID (UAS RID)' <draft-ietf-drip-rid-24.txt> as Proposed Standard
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the [email protected] mailing lists by 2022-05-11. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to [email protected] instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. Abstract This document describes the use of Hierarchical Host Identity Tags (HHITs) as self-asserting IPv6 addresses and thereby a trustable identifier for use as the Unmanned Aircraft System Remote Identification and tracking (UAS RID). This document updates RFC7401 and RFC7343. Within the context of RID, HHITs will be called DRIP Entity Tags (DETs). HHITs self-attest to the included explicit hierarchy that provides registry (via, e.g., DNS, EPP) discovery for 3rd-party identifier attestation. The file can be obtained via https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-drip-rid/ No IPR declarations have been submitted directly on this I-D. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
