The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Multi-homing Deployment Considerations for Distributed-Denial-of- Service Open Threat Signaling (DOTS)' (draft-ietf-dots-multihoming-13.txt) as Informational RFC
This document is the product of the DDoS Open Threat Signaling Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Paul Wouters and Roman Danyliw. A URL of this Internet Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dots-multihoming/ Technical Summary This document discusses multi-homing considerations for Distributed- Denial-of-Service Open Threat Signaling (DOTS). The goal is to provide some guidance for DOTS clients and client-domain DOTS gateways when multihomed. Working Group Summary The first version of the document was published as individual draft in June 2017. The draft was adopted as WG document in January 2019, but received little attention from WG members until the fall of 2021, since the WG was busy with more urgent documents. The situation started changing after the WGLC for the document was issued and early reviews were requested which energized the discussion. Document Quality Document authors are also co-authors of core DOTS documents (signal channel, data channel etc.). One implementation is known to follow the guidelines from the document.
