The IESG has approved the following document:
- 'Avoidance of ROA Containing Multiple IP Prefixes'
  (draft-ietf-sidrops-roa-considerations-08.txt) as Best Current Practice

This document is the product of the SIDR Operations Working Group.

The IESG contact persons are Warren Kumari and Robert Wilton.

Technical Summary

When using the RPKI, address space holders need to issue ROA
object(s) to authorize one or more ASes to originate routes to IP
prefix(es). This memo discusses operational problems which may arise
from ROAs containing multiple IP prefixes and recommends that each
ROA contain a single IP prefix.

Working Group Summary

There was consensus in the SIDROPS WG to progress this document.
After WGLC there were some additional changes made to further improve the
document, including discussing scaling and tightening the recommendation text.
The chairs confirmed that the changes were editorial, and still had WG
consensus.

Document Quality

ROAs that follow the recommendation in this memo have been tested
with several tools; no errors or concerns were found. This is unsurprising,
as ROAs that follow the recommendation are the standard / base case (basically
the document is recommending that people avoid a less common feature without
good reason).

Personnel

   Russ Housley is DS
   Warren Kumari is RAD!
