The IESG has received a request from the Audio/Video Transport Core Maintenance WG (avtcore) to consider the following document: - 'RTP Payload Format for Essential Video Coding (EVC)' <draft-ietf-avtcore-rtp-evc-06.txt> as Proposed Standard
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the last-c...@ietf.org mailing lists by 2023-11-21. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to i...@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. Abstract This document describes an RTP payload format for the Essential Video Coding (EVC) standard, published as ISO/IEC International Standard 23094-1. EVC was developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). The RTP payload format allows for the packetization of one or more Network Abstraction Layer (NAL) units in each RTP packet payload and the fragmentation of a NAL unit into multiple RTP packets. The payload format has broad applicability in videoconferencing, Internet video streaming, and high-bitrate entertainment-quality video, among other applications.
