Hello, Alissa Cooper, who has been serving as an IAB member, has informed us of her intention to step down from her role in March 2025. Although Alissa's term was originally set to run for 2 years, her early departure requires us to fill this position for the remaining 1-year term, instead of the usual 2-year commitment.
This change increases the number of IAB positions that the NomCom needs to fill this year from 6 to 7. Additionally, here is an update on the IESG positions and current nominees: Applications and Real-Time (ART) AD 1 position: Murray Kucherawy (stepping down) Internet (INT) AD 1 position: Éric Vyncke (running again) Operations and Management (OPS) AD 1 position: Warren "Ace" Kumari (running again) Routing (RTG) AD 2 positions: Jim Guichard (running again), John Scudder (stepping down) Security (SEC) AD 1 position: Deb Cooley (running again) WIT AD (one-year and two-year terms) 2 positions: Francesca Palombini (stepping down), Zahed Sarker (running again) We currently have a few nominees who have accepted their nominations (more details at NomCom 2024 Nominations): IETF LLC Board: Need 1, have 2 IETF Trust: Need 1, have 2 IAB: Need 7, have 7 INT: Need 1, have 2 OPS: Need 1, have 2 RTG: Need 2, have 2 SEC: Need 1, have 1 WIT: Need 2, have 1 As you can see from the above, we currently have just enough nominees to fill the available positions, but more candidates would be ideal to ensure a robust selection process.
