This document is the product of the Codec Encoding for LossLess Archiving and Realtime transmission Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Andy Newton and Charles Eckel. It can store timestamped multimedia data but also chapters and tags. The Tag elements add important metadata to identify and classify the information found in a Matroska Segment. This document defines the Matroska multimedia container tags, namely the tag names and their respective semantic meaning. Working Group Summary The WG is small (6-8 active participants), and the authors are the most active contributors, but the entire active working group was involved in reaching consensus for this document. Document Quality The document is of good quality, thanks to the efforts of the working group plus editorial improvements and tightening of BCP14 language and IANA considerations that occurred as a result of the shepherd's review, SECDIR reviews, ARTART reviews, GENART review, IANA reviews, and IESG reviews.
