The IESG has approved the following document: - 'HTTP Unencoded Digest' (draft-ietf-httpbis-unencoded-digest-05.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the HTTP Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Gorry Fairhurst and Mike Bishop. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-httpbis-unencoded-digest/ Technical Summary The Repr-Digest and Content-Digest integrity fields are subject to HTTP content coding considerations. There are some use cases that benefit from the unambiguous exchange of integrity digests of unencoded representation. The Unencoded-Digest and Want-Unencoded- Digest fields complement existing integrity fields for this purpose. This document updates the terms "Integrity fields" and "Integrity preference fields" defined in RFC 9530. Working Group Summary There was quiet but broad agreement to adopt, followed by regular check-ins and contributions, but the authors were most active. This is to be expected given that this is a "boring" but important exercise in creating a protocol element to fill a necessary hole. Document Quality The document has received positive reviews within the Working Group and during Last Call. Feedback from SecDir and GenArt has been incorporated in the most recent version. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Mark Nottingham. The Responsible Area Director is Mike Bishop. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
