The IESG has approved the following document: - 'HTTP Problem Types for Digest Fields' (draft-ietf-httpapi-digest-fields-problem-types-06.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the Building Blocks for HTTP APIs Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Gorry Fairhurst and Mike Bishop. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-httpapi-digest-fields-problem-types/ Technical Summary This document specifies problem types that servers can use in responses to problems encountered while dealing with a request carrying integrity fields and integrity preference fields. Working Group Summary This was originally progressed through the Working Group as an Informational document, since the RFC9457 does not require a Standards-track document to define new problem types. However, discussion during Last Call concluded there was a high probability of downrefs in the future should Standards-track documents wish to recommend the use of these problem types. Rather than deal with those later, the working group decided it was preferable to upgrade this document to Proposed Standard. An additional IETF Last Call was done for the status change with no objections noted. Document Quality Implementors are interested, but commitments are unclear. Multiple reviews have occurred and been broadly positive about the document (modulo the fact that a document is needed at all to perform simple registrations and definitions). Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Rich Salz. The Responsible Area Director is Mike Bishop. IANA Note This document makes three registrations in the "HTTP Problem Types" registry at https://www.iana.org/assignments/http-problem-types. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
