Technical Summary

The Internet Protocol Suite is increasingly used on small devices
with severe constraints on power, memory, and processing resources,
creating constrained-node networks. This document provides a number
of basic terms that have been useful in research and standardization
   work for constrained-node networks.

   This document obsoletes RFC 7228.

Working Group Summary

The work that has led to this document started in October 2016, bringing the
individual submission draft-bormann-lwig-7228bis to the attention of the
now-closed LWIG WG. That document was adopted by the LWIG WG in June 2022.

Following the conclusion of the LWIG WG, the document in its latest form was
brought to the attention of the IOTOPS WG in March 2024, with the individual
   submission draft-bormann-iotops-ietf-lwig-7228bis.

The IOTOPS WG has reached broad agreement and strong consensus on this
   document.
