This document is the product of the IOT Operations Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Mahesh Jethanandani and Mohamed Boucadair. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-iotops-7228bis/ Technical Summary The Internet Protocol Suite is increasingly used on small devices with severe constraints on power, memory, and processing resources, creating constrained-node networks. This document provides a number of basic terms that have been useful in research and standardization work for constrained-node networks. This document obsoletes RFC 7228. Working Group Summary The work that has led to this document started in October 2016, bringing the individual submission draft-bormann-lwig-7228bis to the attention of the now-closed LWIG WG. That document was adopted by the LWIG WG in June 2022. Following the conclusion of the LWIG WG, the document in its latest form was brought to the attention of the IOTOPS WG in March 2024, with the individual submission draft-bormann-iotops-ietf-lwig-7228bis. The IOTOPS WG has reached broad agreement and strong consensus on this document. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Marco Tiloca.
