Technical Summary

The mechanism to proxy UDP in HTTP only allows each UDP proxying
request to transmit to a specific host and port. This is well suited
for UDP client-server protocols such as HTTP/3, but is not sufficient
for some UDP peer-to-peer protocols like WebRTC. This document
defines an extension to UDP proxying in HTTP that enables such use-
   cases.

Working Group Summary

This is a logical extension of allowing outbound UDP which
became a side-project during the development of RFC 9298
   and was later adopted.

Document Quality

There are two existing implementations (Google Quiche and quic-go),
which are interoperable. The document has had several directorate
   reviews and incorporated their feedback.

Personnel

The Document Shepherd for this document is Alejandro SedeƱo. The
Responsible Area Director is Mike Bishop.

IANA Note

This document defines new entries in the "HTTP Field Name"
  <https://www.iana.org/assignments/http-fields> and "HTTP Capsule
  Types" <https://www.iana.org/assignments/masque> registries.
