This text conversion is horrible, the tool is completely broken
regarding <cref> comments and text conversion, for example.
(I have not read the other formats.) (Ie, maybe /* .. */ should
be used not // if non-comments can follow-up on the same line?)
Also comments breaking to the next line are not always commented
at all, see the word "on" in the example below.
idnits (v3 did not work at all when i prepared
draft-nurpmeso-smtp-tls-srv around 1st of January) should possibly
note line excess for comments that happen due to text conversion,
too, the following is just borked:
// Z flag would be doable; then message rejection .. what?? Talk
on
// how often etc this can / should be done, DOS attack etc.]

If comments would (!) really take a line, i personally would not
even dislike if they always start in column 1 btw; i think
editorial comments in the outer margins are used for centuries,
but there is none, here; :) All that is temporary mess, so why
not making it completely disrupting the text? (That is at least
easy to implement, i would assume. And better than the above, and
there are worse examples in that document -- one could play the
"find the mouse" game: fun with that!)

By the way it is also horrible that the original XML file seems
not to be available via the datatracker! (I was trying to find
some formatting hints by looking around, what
github.com/ietf/authors.ietf.org.git does not reveal that easily,
if at all. (Do not ask me no questions, it was super-late
Saturday aka Sunday morning.)
