Sure that sounds good to me. My plan was to state that it is
deprecated for DKIM2, rather than deleting the text. Indeed this text
is a leftover from DKIM1 where consensus wasn't clear, but glad it's
being clarified.
What about deprecating "t=y" (the testing declaration domain flag) for
DKIM2? Then the entire Flags section can be deprecated. We've seen
issues with "t=y" for DKIM1 where domains appear to use it on what
look like production keys.
I'm not privy to how these flags are used in practice for DKIM1. If we
could ignore them (by marking "t" as deprecated completely) for DKIM2,
this would of course simplify implementation, which I'd appreciate.
However that might make an *intentional* t=y into a hard-fail (reject)
in some cases. But then, perhaps we can just require sites adopting
DKIM2 signing to be mindful of that and not sign if they don't intend to
participate in DKIM2 _for real_.
