Hmmmm, maybe we have a compromise here with a special policy?

if they DO exist, it BETTER not destroy my 1st party
signature."
I will agree to this, as long as the 1st party can say "I always sign
and I have the expectation that an unsigned message from me will be
treated with extreme prejudice."
