I have tried "hallway" at jabber.ietf.org, and have not seen that fail yet. Fingers crossed.

From the server talk.google.com, the room "dkim" at jabber.ietf.org
does not appear to respond reliably when initially connecting?
Minutes may go by with no response or server error reported. Perhaps
I am too impatient? Other times, the connection is immediate, as
expected.
