Actually, reach-into-the-queue isn't a dependable recall. The message my be queued becase of a 4xx error _after_ DATA while waiting for content-analysis. To _deliver_ the mesage before the SMTP retry would be a violation of protocol, but the message is clearly out there and could be retrieved.
