Greetings,
Please let me know if this question is not suitable for
this forum, and if so, can you point me where to try.
I'm
conducting a research which refers to new ISP
infrastructures.
ISP's today start offering new layer 2 access to the
home (Ethernet, Cable).
What is
recommended for implementing security over these undedicated
connections?
I
guess Authentication and security must go up to layer 3 ... which means all
applications
must use at least Layer 3 aware routing
switches.
Is
there a way to establish PPP Authentication over these layer 2
infrastructure?
(Resembling the common ISP application with dial
up access servers)
Thanks in
advance,
Moshe
