I couldn't agree with you more.

I don't have all the previous debates on top of my head, but we have to be careful 
that we dont make a mess out of something good, namely TCP/IP.  TCP/IP is the 'sliced 
bread' of the Internet.

Also, I think ATM will die a lingering death notwithstanding the support of ATM by 
erstwhile monopoly carriers.  Advances like IP Over SONET and IP switching will kill 
ATM.
