Hi Joe, Ifeffit has not been maintained or supported for a decade. It has been replaced and upgraded by Xray Larch, which has been in active development for more than a decade, adding many features and fixing many problems that will never be fixed in ifeffit.
Ifeffit is open source, and anyone can modify, support, and distribute any version of the code, even after the original authors stop supporting it. OTOH, no one is obligated to support it. It is pretty rare for anyone to support such legacy code that is a decade past end-of-life, especially when a supported update is available and supported, and generally considered to be hostile. If someone is maintaining a source or binary installer for Ifeffit, I would advise them to stop. --Matt Newville On Thu, Jan 15, 2026 at 12:41 PM Joe Graves via Ifeffit < [email protected]> wrote: > Hello everybody, I'm a graduate student and new to XAFS analysis.
