Hi Kalis,
Thanks for the response.
This approach results is quite a few conflics for us.
We try to minimize the conflicts by using the files on the server and
sharing it on the LAN via SAMBA. Only users who are not in our offices
need to share via iFolder.
It would be nice if the there was an option to select in the client
"maintain current rights" or "only owner has writing rights" in the
client.
This then some feedback from a user (or is it an abuser? :-)
Thanks
Nico

Hi Nico,
This is not related to the Umask issue, iFolder creates the file only with
permissions for the owner since it doesn't maintain the actual File ACL and
assumes only the user who is downloading the iFolder has permissions. For your
case, all users who share a file should use iFolder sharing to perform a
combined update.
Thanks,
Kalis

Hi,
I'm running a iFolder client 3.4.6214.1 on SuSE 10.1 machine.
The problem is that the client changes the rights of the files when
updating from the server from 766 to 744.
It seems to be a umask problem.
Is there a way to set the UMASK being used by the client?
The problem being that the data which is synchronised is used by a
number of users and not only the owner. Most of the other users are on
WinXP with an appropriate client.
Otherwise, iFolder is a joy.
Thanks
Nico
