Hi,
I was curious how simias indicates that a folder or file has been deleted.
To me it looks like if a client deletes e.g. a directory, the ID of the
directory is sent up to the server as a "TombstoneType". This indicates to
the server that the directory has been deleted.
If I'm right so far, I'm wondering how long the server should keep the
Tombstone for that node in the database? It seems as though it should keep it
until every client which has downloaded the node back when it was a
DirectoryType has downloaded the node again as a TombstoneType. If the server
deletes the node before all clients have been told it is a TombstoneType, then
some clients won't delete the directory and will not be correctly
synchronized.
But, it might be that some clients never synchronize again, in which case
the TombstoneType node sits in the database forever.

How does ifolder/simias work?
        Thanks!
C.
