Well, they are certainly running their annual 1-day fantasy miniatures campaign in Nov - "The Big Game" this year and they have added a new DBM competition on the same weekend (on the Sunday). So, even if these events aren't RPGs they do show that perhaps the TTNers are recovering a bit after a really tough summer. rgds rob Here's the blurb from the fantasy event: The Big Game VIII: The Crown of Kings The Crown of Kings has been thrown down and broken. The prophesy stated that only by the hand of line of Kelori could it be sundered and so it was that Jamis the Usurper a descendant of the First Emperor stabbed his imperial brother through and cast him down from the high walls of Castlereign Keep. The emperor, crown and its five kingstones shattered on the rocks below, and with them the alliance forged so many years before. The five kingdoms bound into submission through the power of the Crown of Kings are bound no longer, and the peace that has lasted more than two centuries has been broken. It was the Council of Kings who bore away the kingstone shards to their own capitals. Some say that it was their plan all along and that poor Jamis was but a pawn in their game. Yet now there is a greater game afoot, for none of the kings will ever again allow another to hold dominion over them, and so each must smash the others into submission and forge again the Crown of Kings in their own name. War has come again to the Five Kingdoms! The Big Game will be familiar to most of you with its popular blend of tactical and strategic game play. The much enjoyed strategic element of play used in previous games has been refined to allow the BGVIII to take place on a single day, however the same popular Hordes of the Things rule set will continue to be used to play out the epic conflicts between the various fantasy armies that populate the Five Kingdoms We will need to organise players into teams with up to three Generals and a King in each nation. The five nations available for command are the Orcish Horde, the Elvenheart, the Squidmen of Ryleia, the Knights of Avalone and the New Kingdom Hyksos. The King will play the strategic game, reorganise the armies and handle diplomacy whilst the Generals will lead the troops on the battlefield. Please contact Tim Snoddy to express interest in attending the Big Game or to reserve a nation.
