The Game Crafter's Guild has gone through a full upgrade and now
boasts a whole new set of features.

The GCG web portal was originally set up by Specky last May. It is
intended as a place to support and help collaboration and creativity
in gaming and roleplaying. The original site had a page for
collaborations and downloads.

I've upgraded the site and it now has a forum (based on the rather
cool Vanilla forum software), wiki (based on DokuWiki which has
support for public and private user groups), collaboration with
comments and a download section with comments, star ratings and tags.
Heck, there's even a spell checker! All integrated via a single login.
You can keep up to date by using the numerous RSS feeds, by email or
by using an lj account (gcg_ie), as all news, downloads and
collaborations are cross-posted there.

The *big* feature is that we have a Pligg section. What's Pligg I hear
you cry? The idea is simple. Users submit stories about Gaming and
Roleplaying. Other users comment and vote on these stories. Once a
story has enough votes it appears on the Pligg frontpage. If you use
digg.com or reddit.com you'll know exactly what this is. You can read
more about it here: http://www.gamecraftersguild.com/p/faq-en.php .
AFAIK, we're the first to have this specifically for gaming and
roleplaying! (Just to note, it's not fully integrated with the rest of
the site. Login/logout etc. is fine. This will happen over the next
week, so the link for it is: http://www.gamecraftersguild.com/p )

The site is in "alpha" testing right now and needs some real bodies to
start playing around with the features. See whats useful and what
works (and obviously what doesn't work and isn't useful too). We're
still fleshing out text and look and feel in many places. If
everything is good, we'll make it all official.

When Specky announced the site way back when, many people said they
thought it was something needed. Some of you made offers of content
for the download section (it's not just for scenarios btw). Now would
be a good time to follow through! :)

If you have any feedback, good, bad or indifferent, you can reply here
or just get involved in the site and post your thoughts on the forum.
Suggestions for new features are also welcome.

Oh, btw, that webpage address again: http://www.gamecraftersguild.com
