Greetings, fellow gamers!

Vaticon, UCD Gamesoc's annual convention, is just around the corner and
preparations are well underway. This year we have something for everyone;
whether you want to roll dice, play cards, rock out on Rockband, or even
swing a rubber sword about, we have something for you. Vaticon XV will
take place on the 2nd-5th of April, in the student centre on UCD's
Belfield campus, which should take you only twenty minutes to get to from
Dublin city centre. Admission to the con is 8 euro for a day ticket and
12 euro for the weekend. Here’s a small taste of what you’ll
get for it:

This year we have nine RPGs and five LARPs, including
“Outlive”, a fast-paced linked RPG and LARP game on Friday
evening. As is traditional at Vaticon, the Trilogy game, a tale told in
three parts and three systems will be running all day Saturday.

Vaticon remains the only games convention in Ireland to run a rubber
sword LRP, with "Into the Shadowed Vortex", a customised LRP running on
Sunday afternoon in our very own on-campus woodland. All players will be
instructed in the safe use of the rubber weapons before play.

On the Wargames front this year, we have a 1700 point Warhammer 40,000
tournament and a Warhammer Fantasy Battle 2000 point tournament, on
Saturday as well as participation games and free play all weekend.

For fans of Videogames, as well as a selection of consoles and games free
for casual play we invite you to step up to the Vaticon Video Games
Challenges. Try your hand at Call of Duty 4: The Mile High Club
challenge, Mario Kart: Walugi Stadium Time Trial, Rock Band: Battle of
the Bands or Wii Sports: Ten-Pin Bowling.

We will also once again be hosting Tír na Smash 2, the imaginatively
titled sequel to last years extremely popular "Tir Na Smash" tournament,
which marked the beginning of the competitive Smash Bros scene in
Ireland. This year it will include Wii's Super Smash
Bros Brawl as well as Gamecube's Super Smash Bros Melee.

There'll also be plenty for CCG players to do, with Legend of the Five
Rings and Versus constructed tournaments, and a Magic the Gathering
conflux draft, as well as a Magic: The Gathering Wandering Master
Tournament.

Players of Boardgames should also be satisfied, with Apples to Apples,
Race for the Galaxy, and Roborally Tournaments taking place over the
weekend, with an option for top scorers in the Race for the Galaxy
Tournament to enter a Race for the Galaxy LARP for the title. In addition
to these events there will be a wide selection of games available from
the games library for casual play

And of course, there’s The InnQuizition. Yes, my children, it's
that wonderful time of year again; The Annual Parish InnQuizition! Hold
out your hands for the return of Sisters Imelda and Fidelma and their
rulers of ineffable wisdom, as well as the capable assistance of Sister
Tobeconfirmed and the IT Nun. Be sure to brush up on your Bible, and be
seated in the pews of UCD's Centre Club at 7:30pm on the evening of
Saturday the 4th of April. The cost of entry is 12 euro for a table of
four, and there will be spot prizes on the night, as well as assorted
refreshments provided by our good friends, the bar staff.

We’ll also be running several Special Events, such as the
Madden-Brennan Wikipedia Cup; a challenge in which you must put your
skills of fast thinking, word association and clicking to the test as you
race to connect to articles in the few links possible

And from the twisted mind that brought you UCD Zombie-Apocalypse, UCD
Zombie-Apocalypse Live Action, a live action boardgame, running on demand
all weekend

Or if you fancy something a little more twisted, how about Twister Cubed?
Like last year's Giant Twister, only cubed; this year Vaticon will
experiment with physics, spines and personal space in an all new
multi-dimensional twister tournament.

Full timetable, further details of all events, directions for how to get
there and suggestions for places to stay are all available on
