So the current debate about RPGs has now moved into the real world as anyone
who got within fifty yards of Vaticon will attest to. A movement towards
holding writing workshops has transpired which I support but doubt will end the
argument.
Consider though that a number of us already write and GM at cons on a regular
basis. There is a good reason we keep running into each other at the damn
things. Now I don't think that anyone is denying that there is an issue at cons
with GM's being given scenarios at the last minute, with limited time to read
it and the possibility they don`t even know the system.
However if I'm going to be at X con and running Y scenario and you're at X,
running Z scenario, why don't we swap scenarios beforehand and run a table for
each other? I mean we're talking about trying to help improve the RPG scene and
we can`t run the cons. But we can certainly make life easier for each other and
have more prepared GMs. Hell, we could even cover each other if one of us has
to drop out and can't attend.
So that's my two cents.
Oh and…
One sourcebook to rule them all!
…
Sorry, had to say it.
