Guys,
I'm not sure if you got this mail, please let me know how you think we
should proceed.
I believe that "If it isn't broken don't fix it", and what he wrote sounds
reasonable enough for me.
Thanks,
Chen.

Hi Chen,
The domain "linux.org.il" is registered to "Israeli Linux Users'
Association". There never was a legal entity by this name. And even if
someone were to register one at this point in time it would make no
difference. Any dispute regarding the domain name would have to be
resolved between myself, as the person who registered the domain, and Ira
Abramov or other interested parties. To date, ISOC has refused to make any
changes in the domain registration without my approval, which I think is
the correct thing for them to do in order to avoid legal problems.
The currently registered name servers are tango.tcltek.co.il and
guitar.tcltek.co.il and bit.site.co.il. The domain site.co.il is
registered to Ira and the name bit.site.co.il does not currently resolve.
Ira and Alex asked me yesterday to register the iglu server as a
secondary. This is a reasonable request as far as I can tell. I can think
of no good reason to refuse it. I believe that registering the iglu server
as a secondary will increase the reliability of the linux.org.il name
service. I intend to make this change as soon as possible. I promised Ira
I would do it yesterday but I didn't get around to it. I hope to do it in
a few minutes time.
I will be remaining at "Tk Open Systems Ltd.", formerly "TclTek
Ltd." although I will no longer be responsible for this type of
day-to-day management. That will be handed over to the new management.
I do not think that there is any reason to believe that the new management
of the company will be any less responsive than I was in managing the
domain. On the contrary, I believe that they will have more time for this
than I do - that's why I'm giving them the job.
If there are enough people who feel that this is problematic then I would
be happy to hand over the domain to an amuta that represents the Linux
community in Israel. The key here is that there be enough people who feel
strongly enough about this that they would take the time and expense
to register an amuta that clearly represents the Linux community. Ira has
threatened legal action against me, but it would be cheaper and smarter
for him to just register the amuta and then there would be no
justification for me or my company to continue holding the domain. I am
not going to release the domain without legal action to any individual or
group of individuals who claim to represent the Israeli Linux community
unless they have the recognition of the state for their actions. Otherwise
I might as well hand the domain over to someone paid by Microsoft.
Regards,
