perhaps that's a reason why to leave your email on a reliable system ;)

anyway, the mirroring partition has vanished when the new kernel (that you
once isntalled) was finally rebooted into use. booting back to the older
kernel after re-instaling it) did not help, so i had to re-create
everything from scratch. the vanishing occured saterday 2 weeks ago (i
think). the re-creation started on last friday.

please don't touch these crontab entries without coordinating with me, or
else we'll step on each otehr's tose. since you weren't here last weekend
(how was staying at base, btw?) i had to handle the mirroring myself.

current status:

1. the entries that aren't commented out in crontab are already
   syncronised.

2. the entries that have 6 '#' signs in their commenting aer currently
being synchronized.

3. the rest weren't handled yet - are waiting until the debian mirror ends
(it's been running since monday, i think).

4. the mirroring from redhat is ultimaetly slow. i had to copy RH's 7.2
ISOs from tau's ftp server (which took about 30 minutes per ISO) -
do you know of a location from which i could _quickly_ copy redhat's
upadtes? everyne i saw seems to copy either only some version of the
distribution, or all but not the updates (which are on a different
server now - didn't tp maintainers notice that?). if not, we'll be
lucky to have the updates here yb next weekend :)

you can look at it this way - there was 0GB used 2 weeks ago, and about
25GB used right now.
