i'll see if there's a changelog. so far, the lxr documentation leaves
quite a lot to be desired (until you rtfs. then you have no more
problems).

i wouldnt automate it unless i solve these problems first. the big issue
is wether lxr modifies the files it indexes - so far, it appears that it
doesnt, but i'll have to check.
