You've missed my point - it's not about win32 or Linux. I do not wish to mirror for sake of redundancy (let's have tons of mirrors so that there'll be hundreds of places around the world which host kernel.org), but only for sake of efficiency (Israeli users download the kernel frequently => let's have a mirror). We tried mirroring out of good will (giving backup and bandwidth sharing for nice OSS projects); the conclusion is - we have to be "selfish" and place our (Israeli) community's needs on the first place. Providing a home for a lone project (which has no mirrors) is another story.
