Hi all!

A summary of what happened so far: due to some growing limitations of the
Yahoo Groups service it was decided (by several prominent members at least)
that it would be desirable to move it to its own domain: hackers.org.il. This
domain is owned by Arik Baratz who can point it and its sub-domains to
wherever he pleases.

We need a mail domain with the addresses:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] (for the mailing list - ezmlm will be fine. Or
alternatively Mailman or Siesta)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] (redirect to the hosted work)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] (we have expressed an interest in establishing our
own site with a wiki and stuff - so this is a simple list of addresses ).

And naturally ability to add mailing lists, redirects, etc. on demand.

Now one option is for me to do it on iglu.org.il. Since iglu.org.il is almost
falling apart because of the old distribution (RedHat 6.2) present there, I'd
rather not make another thing depend on it, before we have the hard-disk and
distro upgrade. A better possibility is beak, which I don't have root access
to. Note that I am a hamakor member and so I do believe I am probably
eligible for becoming root there. If I do become root, I can do it myself, or
at least manage the mail addresses of the domain after it is added.

I had some experience with vpopmail before, and I think I recall having added
a domain before. This is a far cry from making me a full-fledged postmaster,
and so would rather trust someone else with this. If given a qmailadmin
account, I could manage the contents of the domain later on, very easily.[1]

We naturally need DNS redirct and hosting (iglu.org.il? beak? something else)
of which I am no expert at all.

Finally, I'd like to set up a web-site. This can be done on iglu.org.il or
beak, and I can easily set up the virtual domain www.hackers.org.il to point
to a directory of our own where I'll set up a site and a wiki. That's the
easy part<tm>.

So, what can anyone voluneer for it? You can reach me in various interactive
means with the information in:

if you wish to consult with me about it.

Regards,

        Shlomi Fish

[1] - I hope you were not offended by me talking a lot about myself. I'm just
telling what I can do with my time, because I seem to have a relatively large
amount of it right now, which is not the case for other distinguished members
of this list.
