So I figure I'll indeed do that. I'm generally available for that on
weekends, so I figure this Friday should do.

Who do I need to contact? What arangements need to be done for
reboot-access to the server?

Can the server boot from a CD? Considering the proximity of a debian
mirror on Beak, network installation is an option.

Any idea about special issues of the the server's hardware with 
the default 2.4 kernel in woody?

Can anybody from here be availble to answer my questions on those two
subjects (and preferbly some hand-holding with qmail).
