No and no, respectively. The system was restored from backup, but not
everything was reconfigured.

Please do. Bear in mind, however, that the firewall currently blocks all
outbound connections. On beak, there is a script (called
"sanityconfig"), that makes sure that all the sources referenced in the
rsync configs (beak is using the same scripts iglu was using) are
allowed by the firewall. As such, it is likely that simply setting up
the user will not be enough, and firewall rules will need to change a
little as well.
