Hi all!

Well, I decided it would be a good idea to have an FTP service running (while
we are settling this disagreement by voting or whatever) so people who were
used to it, won't be dismayed or bug us. (at least until we do decide to
cancel it and release a proper announcement).

So I installed vsftpd on the server, and enabled it. To disable it, comment
out the relevant line from /etc/inetd.conf. Note that vsftps is a very secure
FTP server with a very good security record, so it most probably does not
pose a security risk.

Now, what do everybody else think about it? So far it was only Ilya, Ira and
I. Ira's comment is pretty much irrelevant, and Ilya and I agree on the facts
but disagree on the conclusion. Should I put a "do you find the FTP service
useful?" poll on iglu.org.il? Should we consult Linux-IL with it? Please
voice your opinion.

Regards,

        Shlomi Fish
