Please don't. I'll get it to be in working order Real Soon Now<tm>. (hopefully
this evening.). At the moment, there isn't too much on the site that is
FTP-worthy, but there will be once we have distributions with lots of
packages in the same directory. Also, "get -R" works more flawlessly for FTP
than it does for HTTP.

Anyway, I discussed this and other issues in previous posts to the mailing
lists. (which I know arrived there because I received them). Didn't you read
them?
Our todo list for the time being regarding the files area is:
1. Set up a web-server that can handle files bigger than 2 GB. Set up the /pub
thing accordingly and document the configuration.
2. Get vsftpd working.
3. Anything else?
