do you trust Alcatel's security? brrr... see my script at http://ira.abramov.org/linux/ADSLnetfilter.init.html or plain text at: http://ira.abramov.org/linux/ADSLnetfilter.init I have no idea why there would be any need at all to do this at the alcatel level. A few people asked me about putting the internal (NATed) LAN on the same hub as the ADSL, basicly have a single-NIC gateway/firewall with a virtual interface (like "eth0:adsl"). Alcatel has a long history of security holes and more sadly a lack of care to fix them. this is even more dangerous when you connect to internet by the TV cables one day. I say go to the nearest shop (or my favorite is skak.co.il because they are within walking distance from me :-) and get a 65 shekel 10/100 card. it's dirt cheap. I just added a third NIC to my machine, and all the clients get 100 full duplex and we threw out the clunky 10BaseT/HD hub.
