Hi, The development tree of XChat, the one which uses gtk2 (which will be 2.0.x tree in the future), seems to support bidi suddenly.
Yeah, I know it's gtk2 and gtk2's components use pango for text rendering, but the main IRC window didn't use it till now. Maybe it's old news, though I haven't seen anybody writing about it here, so I'm writing. No need to use --enable-hebrew in the ./configure script. I believe this still enables the internal bidi (Written by Dan Aloni) that was needed to see hebrew correctly in the gtk1 versions.
